Being Open
Sometimes we get the mistaken impression that we have to pretend to be at places in the program that we really have not reached. We may feel that we have to impress our fellows with how well we are doing in staying off mind altering chemicals. It may be that we are really only trying to convince ourselves. We know how difficult it is, and surely our higher power is not fooled by our “act” of well-being.

If we try to hide our disappointment and problems, we cannot be helped with them. We must remember that we have to tell people where we’re really at to make it possible by them to help. No one can read a closed book.
