Dahale said that a few announcements about initiatives of Pune police to tackle the narcotics trade in the city would be made during the function.
“As a part of Mission Mrutyunjay, we would be going to the colleges every months with various activities for generating awareness about drugs among the youths,” he said.
“We have found that drug peddlers are more active in Kondhwa, Yerwada and Pimpri areas. We have activated our network of informers in these areas to curb the menace,” Dahale said. Meanwhile, the function organised at Shivajinagar headquarter will start at 3.30 pm on June 26. It will be inaugurated by acting vice chancellor Dr Arun Adsul in the presence of police commissioner Satyapal Singh and Dr Anil Avchat, director of Muktangan de-addiction centre.
