ABBOTSFORD (NEWS1130) - A disturbing trend in Abbotsford as counsellors say there are more and more drug dealers targeting grade schoolers. The addictions counsellors explain kids -- as young as 12-years-old -- are being exposed to crystal meth and ecstasy.
Leslie Braithwaite with the Abbotsford Addiction Centre says dealers are at parties looking for their next victims. "People who are looking for kids know who to look for.. They're looking for kids who don't have a home to go to after school, they're looking for kids hanging out or not supervised all the time. That sort of thing."
Braithwaite says the drugs are usually cut into marijuana -- the drug of choice for many beginners.
