CCB sleuths arrested Pappajo alias Joseph Ouvo Achola, 39, from Kenya, and Mahama Albert, and confiscated cocaine worth over Rs 1.5 lakh, which they were trying to sell to the public.The two,who were the main drug suppliers to parties in Bangalore, Goa and
other places, were nabbed in 2009. However, they were out on bail and had continued their ‘business’ in a small way.
The two had come to India for higher studies, but overstayed. Then, they started collecting narcotics from Nigerian students and supplying them throughout India.
72 Arrested, 15 Lakh Seized
Peenya police raided a hotel which had allowed a gang of people to indulge in gambling, and arrested 72 persons. The police also seized Rs 15.70 lakh from the premises and mobile phones worth over Rs 3 lakh. Police said that hotel owner Makali Ravi, managers Shivakumar and Umesh are absconding.
