National anti-drugs and crime propaganda office was established in Azerbaijan to combat drug addiction and crimes related to drugs.
A new group formed with the participation of specialists and scientists working in the field of drug control will participate directly in solving the problem, a source at the Office of South Caucasus Anti-Drug Programme (SCAD) UNDP told Trend.
Since a steady rise in crime associated with drugs is observed in Azerbaijan, there was a need to conduct propaganda in this direction together with the relevant government agencies, raise public awareness of the problem.
The organization will contribute from a methodological point of view of government policy to prevent drug trafficking and crime, drug-related adverse effects of further dissemination in other spheres..
One of the goals of the office is to combat AIDS, enlighten in the fight against human trafficking, terrorism, money-laundering, as well as promoting healthy lifestyles.
Guidance is requested to the program manager of regional assistance, drug control in the South Caucasus "(SCAD) United Nations Development Programme Mazahir Efendiyev.
Mazahir Efendiyev, SCAD National Coordinator, is in charge of managing the program.
